Truck repair onI-65.Breakdown by exit.

Greenwood to Whitestown. Shoulder, ramp or truck stop. Give us the mile marker.

Road X dispatches mobile diesel mechanics to trucks broken down on I-65 through the Indianapolis metro — from the Greenwood exits on the south side to the Whitestown logistics corridor on the northwest. Give us your mile marker or nearest exit and direction of travel. Call (317) 551-5253 — a diesel tech picks up, not a call center.

Where we cover

I-65 across the metro — south to north.

South side

Exit 99 (Main St, Greenwood) & Exit 101 (County Line Rd)

Heavy local freight through Greenwood's distribution belt — reefers off Worthsville Rd, dry vans hitting County Line, and a lot of drop-and-hook trailers that show up with dragging brakes or a flat inside dual. If the truck can roll, we'll meet you at the Speedway just off County Line or the lot behind the Exit 99 fuel islands. On the shoulder between MM 97 and MM 102, southbound access is easier than northbound — tell dispatch which way you're pointed.

Greenwood coverage
Southport stretch

Exit 103 (Southport Rd) → I-465 South interchange

This stretch backs up hard at rush hour, both directions. If you throw a code or lose air here between 3 and 6 pm, the shoulder isn't the safe play — traffic is stopped in the right lane half the time. We usually ask drivers to limp off at Southport or Emerson and we meet you just off the exit rather than on the interstate. Quicker for us, safer for you.

Downtown & the South Split

Where I-65 and I-70 share pavement

Same rule as the other side: worst place in the metro to sit on the shoulder. Narrow lanes, blind curves through the split, cars weaving to make their exit. If the truck can still move, get off at West St, McCarty, or Meridian and call from the ramp. If you're truly stuck, hazards on, triangles set, stay in the cab. Same coverage details on the sister-route page — truck repair on I-70.

Northwest side

I-465 NW interchange → Exit 130 (SR-267, Whitestown)

Anson and Whitestown is where the freight lives on this side — Amazon IND9, AllPoints at Anson, FedEx Ground, Duke Realty warehouses, the whole belt. Constant truck traffic in and out means constant calls: brake-can failures on the ramp at Exit 130, air-dryer purges, dead batteries in yard trucks. We stage at the Pilot on the south side of Exit 130 and can usually be at a shoulder call between Exit 123 and Exit 130 inside 45 minutes.

Avon & west-metro coverage
North boundary

Out toward Lebanon (Exit 138 / Exit 140)

The Love's at Lebanon (Exit 138) is our regular northern meeting point. Past Lebanon toward Lafayette the ETA starts stretching past an hour and we'll tell you straight if a closer shop is the better call. Between the Whitestown ramps and Lebanon we're normally 45 to 75 minutes depending on time of day. [Northern boundary to confirm with client.]

On the shoulder

Broke down. Do this first.

  1. 01Get as far right as the shoulder allows. If a ramp is within a mile and the truck rolls, take it — the ramp is safer than the shoulder every time.
  2. 02Hazards on. Triangles at 10, 100 and 200 feet behind the truck per FMCSA §392.22.
  3. 03Read the green mile-marker post — that's your location. Note direction too: northbound vs southbound changes how we reach you on I-65.
  4. 04Stay in the cab, belt on, and call (317) 551-5253. Tell dispatch the mile marker, direction and what the truck's doing.
Roadside work

What we fix on I-65.

Airlines & air leaks

Gladhands, service lines, blown bags, no-air/no-brake releases.

Tires

Steer, drive, trailer — hot-patch or new casing off the service truck.

Batteries & no-starts

Jump, load-test, replace, and check starter draw before we leave.

Derates & sensor faults

Read codes with Cummins Insite, DDDL, PACCAR Davie, JPRO — force regens shoulder-side when it's safe.

Fuel problems

Out-of-fuel primes, water-in-fuel, cracked lines, filter swaps.

Lights & DOT stops

Marker, brake, ABS, 7-pin faults — get you legal and rolling.

When it needs the shop, we coordinate the tow to 5301 Massachusetts Ave. Deep engine work goes to truck engine repair; box, gladhand and reefer-side jobs go to semi trailer repair.

Our regular northern stop. Room to work a trailer with the door up.

Pilot — Exit 95 (Whiteland, south of Greenwood)

South-side default when the truck can limp past County Line.

Speedway — off Exit 101 (County Line Rd)

Fine for airlines, jumps and quick regens if the shop-side is full.
