Exit 66 (SR-267) & Exit 68 (Six Points Rd)
Plainfield warehouse-belt traffic dumps onto these ramps all day — trailers coming out of AllPoints Midwest and Airtech Park with dragging brakes, hot hubs, and slow air leaks that finally pop on the ramp. We meet drivers at the Pilot on the north side of Exit 66 when the truck can roll that far. If you're pinned on the shoulder between Exit 59 and Exit 68, give us your mile marker and direction and we're usually there in 30 to 60 minutes.
Plainfield coverageExit 69 (Ameriplex Pkwy) → Exit 73 (Holt Rd)
This is IND cargo country — FedEx feeders, air-freight team-drivers, and reefers running to the Indianapolis International ramps. Regen faults are the number-one call along here because trucks idle in dock queues and never burn hot enough. Airline pops happen at the Ameriplex on-ramp with the sharp merge. We stage a truck at the Speedway on Holt if you can limp there; otherwise it's a shoulder call.
Where I-70 and I-65 share pavement
This is the worst place in the metro to stop. The shoulders are narrow, sightlines are ugly, and traffic doesn't slow down. If you're stopped between Exit 79A (Washington St) and the South Split merge, get off at the first safe ramp — West St, Meridian, or East St — and call us from there. If you truly can't move, hazards on, triangles set, stay in the cab and call. We'll route the closest tech and coordinate a wrecker if the shoulder isn't workable.
Exit 89 (Post Road) & Exit 91 (Mount Comfort Rd)
The TA at Post Road (Exit 89) is our most-used meeting point on the east side — big lot, safe to work, open 24/7. If you're broken down between the South Split and Post Road, that's usually where we'll ask you to head. Exit 91 pulls trucks in and out of the Mount Comfort warehouse corridor (Pretium, ProLogis, LG Electronics) and the small-package operations off CR-600W. Response inside I-465 runs 30 to 60 minutes; out to Mount Comfort add 15.
Lawrence & east-side coverageBroke down. Do this first.
- 01Get as far right as the shoulder allows. If there's an off-ramp within a mile and the truck can roll, take it — the ramp is always safer than the shoulder.
- 02Hazards on. Triangles out at 10, 100 and 200 feet behind the truck per FMCSA §392.22.
- 03Read the green mile-marker post on the shoulder — that's your location. Note the direction of travel too.
- 04Stay in the cab, seatbelt on, and call (317) 551-5253. Tell dispatch the mile marker, direction, and what the truck is doing.
